Why Chinese Are Thin?
1.We don't eat big peice of meat that often like American.(I think it is because meat is relatively expensive for Chinese in China)
2.Cars are not so often as here in China,so we WALK a lot more Americans
3.We drink green tea instead of coffee with creamer and sugar.
4.We almost don't eat hamburgers.
5.Chinese don't have so many vacations like Americans and when we have we don't eat that much like Americans.

How to learn Chinese easy and fast?
1.Learn like a kid.
Have you ever think of how we started to learn our native language when we were a kid?
We learn from hearing,imitating and interacting.
Do kids learn from text books and all the boring grammar rules?
Do kids stay in classroom and take all the difficult tests?
Do kids make learn reading and writing before they speak?
Absolutely No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
None of us learned how to speak the first language the way most people were taught in school.
Kids learned a language by listening and speaking first.
Listen to native speaker ,repeat,try your best to imitate your teacher and speak!
This is the best and the most fast way to learn a language.
Speaking is our natural ability and you need to listen to native speaker speak Chinese like the kids
listen to adults and suck up all the new words. Kids don't learn grammers,don't know any rules you are learning from the boring Chinese text book; Kids don't have all those high-end words from the text book that you might never use in your life when you speak Chinese.But they can communitate what they want,what they think.
After years of learning experience in classroom,you might still find that you still have difficult time opening your moth to speak a single easy Chinese sentence . Why? Because language is a communation tool human being use and it is our natural ability to learn how to speak.The way people are trained how to speak Chinese are against the nature of us and learning how to read and write first takes away the basic needs ,funtion and the FUN parts out of the learning process.It is totally wrong and not pratical. You need to learn how to SPEAK first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my personal learning English experience and from years of teaching Chinese experience. Once you start to learn how to speak and express what you want in daily life,you feel natural and fun to learn more and speak more!
2.Spend 30 minutes everyday
It isn't difficult to learn Chinese at all but that doesn't mean that you don't need to do anything and put no effort in it.Spend 30 minutes practicing what you learn EVERYDAY.Listen to it while you are driving,cooking or do landry,repeat what you are listening.You can just use the short time like waiting for people or lunch break to learn a little bit and speak a little bit EVERYDAY.After one week you will find that you can order Chinese food in restrant,you can express yourself to the Chinese woman you are crazy about;you can even impress your Chinese client!
Remember:It is easy and fun to speak Chinese if you learn SPEAKING FIRST!

It isn't really difficult, it just takes some time and effort and you can have fun out of the learning process too! I think no matter you learn a language or do anything.Knowing why is far more important before you know how.The purpose drives your actions.So if you don't have a good reason to start,then probably you wouldn't go very far.

Everyone knows China is growing fast and about 1.4 billion Chinese speak Chinese,so if you know how to speak the language then you open a whole huge market for your business or much bigger potential job opportunities.More opportunities bring more money,and the most important thing is that you have the advantage in both your home country and China because of your language skills.So you will have more options,the more options you have,the higher chance you will have the way you want to live your life.
That's why so many businessmen start to learn Chinese to expand their market in China.Some may say you can hire a translator or business assistant who is native Chinese speaker.Sure, you can do it and you might still need to do it,even though you know how to speak Chinese.But you would feel a lot better and more in control of your own business even you only know some basic conversational Chinese.You can bargain with them,you can joke with them,then they won't think you are total foreign to China,you will find you have lower chance to be ripped off.
If you are not interested in doing business at all and just curious about China then that is enough reason for you to learn Chinese.There are so many young people going to China just out of curiosity.It is a very unique and different country.Many foreigners found better opportunity in China.Some of my students became English teacher,some enjoy a lot taking commercials,some found their perfect match in China.Anyway, you have better chance to standout in a country that has 1.4 Chinese as a foreigner.

There are 300 million Chinese are learning or have learned English.So even you don't have skills but you are an English native speaker then you can find a teaching job there.It is not difficult to make from $20-$40 per hour(which is 130RMB-260RMB(Chinese currency)as a tutor or an English teacher in China.Some people might say that isn't very tempting.But considering the average hourly rate in America and the average salary and much lower living expense in China,it is pretty good for a person has no special skills other than speaking English.If you know some Chinese then you will find a well-paid job very very very easy in China.
4.Guilty ABC
Some ABC want to learn Chinese beccause you have Chinese background and you feel better if you know some of the language that your panrents or grandparents can speak.
I know some ABC feel guilty that they can't speak any Chinese,if you are one of them ,start today get rid of your guiltiness!It is easier for you guys to start.Once you start then your kids are more likely to speak Chinese and English in future.
